The conference is organised by the Flemish government, Department of Economy, Science and Innovation, in close collaboration with the European Commission
Europe needs to move towards a low carbon economy to fight climate change, to ensure its energy security and future industrial competitiveness, and to contribute to growth and jobs. The SET-Plan is the European response to these challenges: it is the technology pillar of the EU's energy and climate change policy. The SET-Plan aims to accelerate the development and deployment of a world-class portfolio of low carbon technologies.
The conference’s main objective is to communicate on the progress of the implementation of all SET-Plan action lines three years after the launch of the first SET-Plan Communication from the Commission 'Towards a low carbon future'. In addition, the conference will focus on the international Science and Technology cooperation dimension of the SET-Plan.
